We're Half Way There!

Can you believe we are already half way through summer??!?  It is scary/sad/ slightly exciting that fall clothes are already in stores.  As much as I am in no way wishing the summer away, I cannot help that I have been eye-ing up the fall pattern pants and polka dot fall sweaters in the fall J. Crew catalog.    This summer has been so jam packed that I have not had much down time ( as you can see by my lack of posts).  I  have done so many fun things in the last 1.5 months that I have not even blogged about, that I wanted to fill you in on some of them:

Back in June we had girls weekend with all of the girls on my dad's side of the family on LBI.  It is always great getting together with my cousins, aunts, and my mom and sister, but it is extra special when it is just us girls,  and we always have a great time eating/drinking/socializing together.

Some Light Beach Reading.

The whole clan.

Margs by the lagoon.

The next weekend in June came Ali and Pat's wedding, which was at the gorgeous Oakmont Country Club and Ali looked absolutely beautiful.

Me with ALV and LES pre reception.

DFH and BS gossiping/ taking in the golf course views with brews in hand.

Here Comes the Bride and Groom

Arriving in Style.

Such an amazing wedding.  The band was so great I danced too much to take any more pictures..oops.

Another great day was the Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw Brothers of the Sun Tour.  Thanks to ALV's Mom we had a great tailgate with delicious food,  yummy drinks, and great people.

Some of the Men with Donna

Love ALVS's cowboy boots.

It was seriously 100 degrees outside, so after tailgating for a few hours it was time to hit the casino before the concert to cool off.

Probably one of the most entertaining concerts ever. Such a perfect summer concert.

Love the view of the City from Heinz Field.

And this past weekend I was lucky enough to enjoy a week in OBX!! ( Post to Follow)

I hope the next 1.5 months are just as fun filled and fabulous.

Happiness and Wants

1.  I am so happy that the Lilly Pulitzer 2012-2013 planners are out.  I was converted from Filofax to Lilly planners a few years ago and have not turned back.  I love the bright colors and stickers ( I sound five) and the large spaces, which is perfect for my giant handwriting.

Even though I graduated from law school three years ago ( yikes!) I still like starting my planner in the September at the start of the school year.  I always have so much going on around the holidays that I think it is easier to start a fresh planner at the end of the summer.

2. WANT:  Sunday Boulevard Bag:  I have been eyeing up this bag for a while, I love the canvas and the different color choices, and obviously the monogram.  I have heard so many rave reviews lately, I think it may be time to take the plunge.

3. I am so happy I am taking ballet lesson and tennis lessons, such a great workout and SOO much better then the gym.

4. WANT:  As I discussed here I am loving the The Frat Collection.   How perfect is this shirt for a cool night at the beach.  I still cannot decide which pocket pattern I want.

*What makes me really happy is I was lucky enough to be given a promo code for my readers to receive 10% off every item in their order when they enter the code URI at checkout.

DIY: Mint Yarn Wreath

I have been loving everything Mint Green this summer, and when I saw THIS wreath inspiration on Pinterest I knew mint green yarn was a must when making this wreath.

Ingredients:
1.

1 Straw wreath ( do not take off the plastic, to avoid a mess)

2.

1 ball of the yarn of your choosing

3.

Felt for the florets.

4.

Hot Glue Gun

Step 1: Wrap the yarn around the straw wreath so that there is no straw showing through the yarn.  Add hot glue every so often when wrapping the yarn to keep the yarn in place.

I am not the best at describing how to make the florets, but I have previously blogged about it Here.  I made about 15 florets in different sizes and varying colors ( light pink, violet, and cream).  You can add as many or as few florets as you desire.  I found it best to make them first and then glued them in place once I found a look I liked.

Happy Wednesday.

Life At The Beach

After a relaxing and super fun week at Long Beach Island with family and friends I am back to reality.  It is definitely tough getting back into the work groove after enjoying a week with my toes in the sand.

Here is some of the fun:

I don't think anything beats being at the beach on the 4th of July ( especially with Sparklers)

Our family portrait....4th of July edition

'Merica Sunglasses were also out in full force

We had a blast on the boat, and the ocean breeze made the 100 degree temperatures much more tolerable.

No LBI trip would be complete without a good photo shoot.

Our Lobster Feast was a perfect way to end the week.

Thanks Mom and Dad for a great week!
