Animal Head

JLP and I joined the animal hat clan this weekend while in NYC

It was obviously necessary to wear them while cutting our christmas tree with the fam.

Do you love?

This will be perfect to wear to cheer on the Pens!

EAT. PRAY. LOVE. SHOP

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!   I just got back from a wonderful weekend with my family.  While at home in New Jersey my mom and I shopped around a little town called Frenchtown which is right on the Delaware River and outside of the town I grew up in.

The town is full of quaint little shops and boutiques.  ( We made sure we got our Small Business Saturday Shopping in)

One of the shops we stopped in was called Two Buttons and is owned by the Husband of Elizabeth Gilbert who is the author of Eat, Pray, Love

How cute is their sign?

The shop is full of neat statutes and items from around the world, but most items are from South East Asia

The shop had so many unique pieces, I wanted everything, but ended up leaving with a few goodies

Elizabeth happened to be working at the shop with her husband, and they were both so lovely.

I love the shop motto:
Our problem here at Two Buttons is the same as ever: we are obsessed with beauty.

Please check out their Website to find out more about this neat fun little shop

Needlepoint Love

For my birthday my good friend Steel Magnolia had a custom monogram needlepoint key chain canvas made for me.  She has been working long and hard on the needlepoint key chain, and it turned out amazing!!  I am so impressed with her talents.

I love all the details and colors and especially love the argyle and monogram, I couldn't wait to see the final product.

A few weeks ago we took the canvas the local needlepoint shop to be finished and after much anticipation I finally got the key chain back.

It looks fabulous!  They were able to finish it off with ribbon, and I have already received so many compliments on it.  It makes me want to take up needle point ( Do I really need another hobby?!?)

A special thanks to Steel Magnolia for taking the time to make me such a special gift!!  I am obsessed!  I think you may give Smathers and Branson a run for their money ;)

Homecoming

This year was my five year college reunion at Elon ( eekk..makes me feel old).  I couldn't wait to get back to North Carolina and see the campus and all of my friends.  All of my friends from college are now spread all over the country so I was super excited to get together with them.

As I've stated before one thing I miss being in the north is good southern fast food.  So our first stop in Elon, NC was obviously Bo Jangles

Tailgating Box ...necessary

So happy to be reunited with my old roomies

Saturday we had to return to our old Sorority House before tailgating

Our Senior Year Composite haha

It was so fun being back and tailgating, made me miss college Saturdays.

Loved being reunited

The Vineyard Vines Tailgate Table had VV pattern Koozies

Missing Elon already <3

Johnathan Adler at Discount

This past weekend I was perusing my usual TJ Maxx and in the clearance isle I spotted one of the Jonathan Adler prints hiding under a few books.  I started sifting through the rest of the clearance and came across LOTS of Jonathan Adler goodies.  CLEARANCE I couldn't believe it!!  I have come across several Lilly Pulitzer ad Kate Spade items at the Maxx, but never on clearance.  There were several paper good items in different patterns including cocktail plates and napkins, pencil holders, desk organizers, water bottles, magnetic boards, etc.
As much as I didn't NEED any of these items I couldn't believe these adorable Jonathan Adler items were at the Maxx for dirt dirt cheap, literally items for $1.00.   ( I guess in Pittsburgh no one knows Jonathan Adler hahaha, so they are practically giving the stuff away)

I wanted to take pictures of all the items at the Maxx, but my Blackberry was being rude as usual

Here are the some of the items I purchased:

How cute are these paper goods??  Perfect for a girls night cocktail party ( I love any excuse to plan a party)

Adorable Aluminum Water Bottle: This is a perfect size to take to work and throw in my work bag

I wanted to buy everything, but I had to control myself

Have you ever seen Jonathan Adler at Marshalls or TJ Maxx?

Halloween Recap ( Finally!!)

I always love Halloween!  I love the decorations, carving pumpkins, costumes, and roasting pumpkin seeds and this year was no different.

This year we had two costume parties to attend.  ALV and I decided to be birds, I made a peacock costume and ALV made a bald eagle costume.  DFH decided he was going to be a man being attacked by birds.  (Random bird theme ?!?)

Many hours were spent gluing feathers

...and gluing on birds

ALV had a costume party and provided us with wonderful treats including a cauldron with green brains

A couple My Little Ponies made an appearance

Blood Concept Perfume

As I continue to look for a new winter perfume, I aways make sure to browse magazines to see what perfumes they recommend.  Today on dailycandy.com I read about Blood Concept Perfumes, a new concept which matches perfume scents based on your blood type ( Weird, but cool).  I've never thought about your blood type having anything to do with scents you like, I guess it could make sense.  It could be a complete gimmick, but I also think it sounds pretty cool, does your blood type sound like a scent you would enjoy??

O – Animalistic impulses from history’s oldest bloodline; a leathery scent with hints of raspberry, cedar wood, and thyme.
A – A swift progression to agrarian-inspired greenery via tomato leaves, basil, and star anise.
B – Intense spice for culturally inclined nomads; red apple and black cherry blend with pepper, black tea, and a dash of patchouli.
AB – A mineral stream for nature-averse urbanites; aluminum and slate wash over a bed of saline-soaked pebbles.

My blood type is A+  ( I am not sure how I feel about smelling like tomato leaves and basil, although I do love Pizza hahahaha)

What do you think about Blood Concept Perfumes?
