A Green Weekend.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope you remembered to wear green.

I am loving the clover and my green desk calendar today from A Blissful Nest

St. Patrick's Day is pretty huge in Pittsburgh.  The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day there is always a parade and people pretty much start consuming green beer as soon as they wake up.

On Saturday afternoon we met up with friends, but took it easy this year as we had a busy weekend planned.   I  sported my DIY'd green glitter chucks ( which look like they need to be re-glittered before next year!).

On Sunday we went to the Pens v. Flyers game and enjoyed green beer and great seats.

The Pens lost, but it was amazing to be so close to the action.

Cheese!
( Sorry for the blurry iPhone pictures)

Normally on St. Patrick's Day I like to make the traditional corn beef and cabbage and let it slow cook all day, but I totally forgot to pick some up at the grocery store.  We will have to have a rain check on that meal.

How do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

  3. looks like you had a very green-filled weekend, did the green beer taste good or just tasted like beer still?

  4. I always bake my mom's Irish soda bread - had a slice with a fried egg this morning! Corned beef & cabbage is NOT my favorite, so I've got beef stew and colcannon on the menu for tonight :) happy St. Pat's!
