Book Suggestions Please!!

This weekend I have my book club meeting and we are deciding which book to read next and I need some ideas.

We just finished reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, and I loved it!  If you like Historical Fiction it's a perfect read for you.

My cousin RPS suggested The Paris Wife, and it looks amazing, but I want to bring a couple suggestions in case some of our members have already read this.

At this point I think most people have already read the popular books such as: The Hunger Games and The Help, so I need some new ideas.

What books have you loved?

What books has your book club read?

  1. I am in the middle of "Unbroken" - a true story about a record breaking Olympic athlete and WWII vet who went down in the South Pacific, survived on a raft for a month, and supposedly killed a shark with his bare hands (haven't gotten to that part yet)(and I think he gets captured by the Japanese). Oh, and he is still alive today. I cannot.put.it.down. It is SO good and even better knowing it's a true story. Written by the same women who wrote Seabiscuit.

Not a "girly" book, but an incredible read nonetheless!

  3. I have two: A sweet girly story that I was sad to finish because I wanted it to go on forever (Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummon) and a fascinating and hilarious view into a women's prison (Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman)

  6. Our book club just finished Unbroken and it was amazing! Another book we read was Little Bee which has a lot of questions in the back for book clubs.

  8. If y'all liked The Help, check out The Swan House by Elizabeth Musser--it has a similar feel but is more a coming of age story! Very good!
