Weekend Recap

I forgot how amazing it was to have a three day weekend. That extra day off is so money. We had a jam packed weekend and I am already counting down the days until next weekend so I can relax.

On Thursday night the weather was perfect so DFH and I decided to kick off the holiday weekend with drinks on a local rooftop bar.  Then on Friday I spent the day with ALV and LES celebrating ALV's birthday. We shopped, we ate, we got our nails done, it was a perfect girl's day.  We don't get to spend days together like that nearly enough with our busy schedules so it was just glorious.

On Friday night we celebrated a friend's 30th birthday at a cabana beach bar. The entire bar is outside and it rained and rained and rained so I didn't take any pictures.  We spent the night huddled under the thatched roof over the bar, but we still had a great time and made the best of it.

Saturday ALV and BS hosted a 4th of July BBQ, which was super fun.   I don't think I will ever get tired of sparklers.  This was the only picture I took from the night - Sorry.   I was too busy stuffing my face with all of the delicious dips in the kitchen.

Finally, Sunday was spent running errands and preparing for the week, followed by being lazy on the couch.  Does anyone else watch the show Alone on the History channel?   It is really great.  The show is about ten guys who get dropped off in the wilderness of Canada and have to fend for themselves with little supplies.  You can "tap" out of the competition when you cannot go on and the last guy to survive wins $500,000.  It is so interesting what the men do to collect food, water, and shelter, but yeah that's how we spent Sunday afternoon.

Also I just picked up this pillow from Target which is now half price. I may be seven hours from the ocean, but I count resist this pink and striped nautical goodness, especially for $11.98.  It looks like the pillow is sold out online, but I picked it up in my local store and they still had quite a few left.  How I wish I could cover my entire home in nautical décor.   Le Sigh.
